Peter Jamieson studied painting, drawing, etching and wood engraving at the Royal Academy Schools, Piccadilly, London 1969-1972. Whilst a student he won the Osbert Birley prize for painting, the Landseer prize for print making, and the Inverest Paper Co. prize for etching at the Graffiti Gallery, London. Shortly after leaving the Academy he won the Elizabeth T Greenshield award to study in Italy.

Peter Jamieson's work is in several notable collections including HRH the Prince of Wales, the National Maritime Museum at Greenwich and the Brinsley Ford Collection now at the Courtauld Institute London and the Faringdon Collection in Oxfordshire.
